​Tandem Talent is delighted to have partnered with an exciting company based near to Battersea Power Station who due to a period of sustained growth are looking to recruit a Cleaning & Waste Manager

The Cleaning & Waste Manager is responsible for managing cleaning and waste management contracts across our clients site. Working directly and managing the contracts and sub contracted staff. They deploy technology to help manage cleaning processes and the post holder will need to ensure contracted staff are familiar with and use the system in an efficient way. Their aim is to increase recycling rates year on year with an ambition of zero to landfill.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Overseeing and agreeing contracts and providers for services including cleaning, waste management

  • Managing domestic contracted staff

  • Managing waste contractor

  • Ensuring that high standards are maintained in the tidiness of our site

  • Work closely with Facilities maintenance teams and log building defects on maintenance system

  • Ensuring that cleaning facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and security standards with regards to Covid-19

  • Advising on improvement of standards and the use of technology with the cleaning industry

  • Managing office events from cleaning and waste perspective (office parties / hosted events)

  • Drafting reports and making written recommendations as to performance of the contract

  • Supervision of specialist removal contractors and checking of contractor's documentation

  • H+S awareness with a minimum IOSH certificate

  • Excellent people skills - you will need to work at every level

  • Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness

The candidate

The ideal candidate with have experience in a similar position, have an understanding of facility technologies such as censored cleaning systems, digital security and digital Covid devices. You will need to have experience with Covid-19 regulations. Due to the nature of the business the ideal candidate will also need to speak fluent Spanish.

In return you will receive a basic salary of £40,000 plus benefits which include, DIS, Pension and 25 days holiday allowance (plus bank holidays)
