Job Title: Technical Design Analyst (End User Computing)

Reporting to: Head of Enterprise Technology Architecture and ultimately to the Head of Technology


The Technical Design Team focus on the design and delivery of new technologies and services to Foster + Partners. Working closely with specialist support teams and design studios that use leading edge software and technology to deliver ground-breaking and innovative designs for our clients.


This role will embrace change and strive to enhance technical and procedural policies and processes.



  • Getting to know the key stakeholders across the business, so you can understand their workflows and requirements, to support and improve through efficiency and/or technology improvements.
  • Assist in defining the overall EUC strategy, in line with the overall technology and business strategies
  • Provide governance in the EUC arena. including, but not limited to, client builds, software deployment through SCCM and reporting and management tools.
  • Proactively participate in the software portfolio management processes for updates of existing packages, retiring of legacy software and the case for new software.
  • Build and maintain compliance processes across the estate
  • Proactively act as a senior escalation point, mentor, and guide to Desktop and Service Desk teams. Support colleagues in other Technology areas as needed, including providing incident support when needed
  • Monitor and oversee progress of product development as well as plans for product releases, providing expertise and collaborating with the Technology teams to ensure the Strategy and vision are developed and executed
  • Track technology developments from suppliers and partners to determine future opportunities that will come from technical developments
  • Involved and support projects in troubleshooting, quality assurance, and deployment.
  • Identify, implementing and measuring metrics to understand how our people are using the product / service and how it’s performing for further planning
  • Develop and assist in implementing new technical solutions based on a wide variety of different technologies, focussing on quality delivery and excellent handover to the people that will manage them in operation.
  • Ensure new products and features are communicated across the business effectively and in a timely manner
  • Strive to identity new opportunities to improve the user experience from device performance to service delivery.



Qualities and Skills required

  • Strong experience in defining, maintaining and implementing enterprise standards
  • Experience of working in environments requiring strong governance and control mechanisms to be in place
  • Thorough knowledge of Endpoint Management through SCCM / MECM for deployment, inventory and application updates)
  • Very strong OS and software lifecycle management (Windows/Office/browser, etc. upgrades and other major changes), including definition, maintenance and implementation
  • Familiarity of the Microsoft products including the Office 365 suite (Office 365 Groups, OneDrive for Business, Yammer, Streams, Planner, PowerApps, Flow)
  • Understanding of endpoint security & compliance (antivirus, firewall, disk encryption, data protection)
  • Solution design and delivery for such things as Windows Rollouts for physical and Virtual environments, Active Directory, Desktop Analytics and software delivery and updates
  • Analytical view to be able to query / run reports to make informed decisions
  • Good relationship management skills, ability to capture and prioritise requirements and motivate and energise teams to deliver
  • Strong communications and documentation skills with good experience in creating solution and process documents
  • Practical experience of project delivery preferably with an agile based approach
  • Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information
  • Excellent diagnostic and incident management skills and experience, including the use of endpoint monitoring & diagnostic
